About Dr. Ashutosh Marwah
Dr. Ashutosh Marwah is the Director of Paediatric Cardiology at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi. He is an alumnus of Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. After completing his degree in the field of Paediatrics, he went on to train in Paediatric Cardiology at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne. He has more than 20 years of experience in treating children and adults with congenital heart diseases. He is well versed in imaging of complex cardiac conditions in children as well as foetus. He has performed over 2000 diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and more than 1200 therapeutic cardiac catheterizations in children, which include balloon septostomy, coil and device closure of various cardiac defects, balloon aortic and pulmonary valvotomies, stent placement in coarctation, pulmonary arteries and PDA. He has travelled to many countries like Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Fiji, Uzbekistan, Iraq and Pakistan and has coordinated with local physicians in providingconsultations and treatment to many patients. He regularly receives patients from many of these countries for further treatment. He has been responsible for the training of many young doctors (domestic and international) in the field of Paediatric Cardiology. He regularly conducts outreach clinics in various parts of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab. He is a life member of the Paediatric Cardiac Society of India and IAP.
